TrueConf users can live stream video conferences on their Facebook pages or Timeline. This function is optional and is available as a paid extension to your TrueConf Server license. If you have already activated this feature, please follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Create a video conference on TrueConf Server

Open the Group conference tab and click Create:

RTSP Streaming is available for all types of video conferences, so you can choose any conference type:

Fill in the main form and click Turn On in the Streaming section.

Choose Manual ConfigurationConfigure in the context menu.

Choose Streaming server: Manual settings — Pull, enter template name and get the streaming link.

Step 2: Start a video conference

Select your video conference and click Launch:

Step 3: Get the Stream Key on FB live

Proceed to FB Live and click the Stream tab.

Press Create Live Stream button below.

Click Create Live Stream button.

Select where to publish your stream. Copy the stream key and RTSP link.

The conferences created on TrueConf Server are streamed via RTSP protocol. Unfortunately, FB Live does not support RTSP protocol, which means you need to convert RTSP stream in RTMP stream. You can use a free console utility, FFmpeg, to stream your video conference. Download this program from the official website and install it.

Run FFmpeg on the same computer where TrueConf Server was installed.

Step 4. Running FFmpeg from the command line

Go to the Windows OS command line and open the folder where FFmpeg was installed. Then, run the following command:

ffmpeg -i "<translation>/h264,mp3+44100Hz" -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f flv "<url>/<key>"

Where

<translation> is the stream link obtained from the conference creation page in the TrueConf Server control panel.

<url> and <key> are the URL address of the server and the stream key from the stream creation page on FB Live.

For example:

At this point, the preparation for the stream on the server side is complete, and you can go to FB Live.

Step 5. How to launch the stream on Facebook

Click on the Go Live button, and the stream will start on your Facebook page.

Have a nice video conference!
