TrueConf users can live stream video conferences on their Facebook pages or Timeline. This function is optional and is available as a paid extension to your TrueConf Server license. If you have already activated this feature, please follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Create a video conference on TrueConf Server
RTSP Streaming is available for all types of video conferences, so you can choose any conference type:
Fill in the main form and click “Turn On” in the “Streaming” section.
Choose “Manual Configuration” — “Configure” in the context menu.
Choose “Streaming Configuration: Manual settings-Pull”, enter template name and get the streaming link.
Step 2: Start a video conference
Select your video conference and click “Launch”:
Step 3: Get the Stream Key on FB live
Proceed to FB Live and click the “Stream” tab.
Press “Create Live Stream” button below.
The conferences created on TrueConf Server are streamed via RTSP protocol. Unfortunately, FB Live does not support RTSP protocol, which means you need to convert RTSP stream in RTMP stream.
You can do it using OBS Studio free software. The software can be downloaded on OBS Studio official website.
Download the OBS Studio, click “Create Live Stream” button, select where to publish your stream and click “Next”.
You can find the Stream Key here.
After you received the FB Live Stream Key and RTSP link, you can start setting up OBS Studio.
Step 4: Setup OBS Studio
After installation, start OBS Studio and add a new “Source“:
Select “VLC Video Source” in the drop-down list.
Click “+” icon and select “Add Path/URL” in the drop-down list:
Following Step 1, enter RTSP link of your video conference and press ”Ok”:
Proceed to File =>Settings => Stream.
Choose ”Custom Streaming Server” in the “Stream Type” field. Enter FB Live Server URL and “Stream Key”. Сlick “Apply” and “Оk”:
Click “Start Streaming” and proceed to FB Live to start live streaming on your Facebook page.
Step 5: Start streaming on FB Live
Click “Go Live”. Your streaming will start automatically on your Facebook page.
Happy video conferencing!
