TrueConf Server utilizes TrueConf Cyclon, our revolutionary low-bandwidth video codec that connects business-quality personal video calls and conferences at connection speeds as low as 128 kbps for one-on-one calls and 256 kbps for group conferences, even when using a connection with unreliable bandwidth.

TrueConf Server architecture allows connections not only through your LAN but also from outside through your corporate VPN, Firewall and proxy layers while maintaining your network security. Once installed, TrueConf Server acts as the central hub for videoconferencing connections. Users can easily connect to a VCS conference by installing the TrueConf Client Application, which runs on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. Install the client as many times as you like on as many computers as you need—the TrueConf Server license limits only the number of simultaneous clients.

In a TrueConf Server conference, every participant receives a 480×360, HQ 640×480 or HD 1280×720(depends on your license and CPU/Network conditions) resolution video stream from each of the other participants. Depending on the number of participants in your conference, the images will be scaled on your computer so that you can see all the participants at the same time inside your client window. At any time, you can see the native HD 1280×720 stream from any participant and you can switch layouts of the participants.

TrueConf Server was created specifically for easy integration into your company or institution IT infrastructure. Integration with a company’s network services enables network administrators to start using the product immediately, minimizing integration costs in comparison with hardware video conferencing solutions and also other software solutions.

TrueConf Server conference participants can use their email addresses to login, quickly making your network an easy-to-use tool for internal communication. TrueConf Server also supports integration with Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP services for rapid and efficient user management from day one. The ease and flexibility of TrueConf Server reduces setup time, allowing non-technical users to install and customize TrueConf Server server in less than half an hour.

TrueConf Server does not require expensive equipment as the video conferencing server does not convert video streams. TrueConf Server has low bandwidth requirements due to our unique video codec and transport levels, which together prevent server CPU overload. This means that any modern PC with a dual core processor or Hyper-Threading technology can be used as server.

Functionality

Point-to-Point Video Call – call between two users where both participants are able to see and hear each other.

Multipoint Video Conference – allows up to 16 participants to all see and hear each other at the same time. Also known as multi-user video conference.

Video Lecture - allows 16 participants to see and hear only the lecture owner while the owner can see and hear all of the participants simultaneously.

Virtual Meeting – role-based multipoint video conference which can bring up to 100 participants together in a single video conference where up to 3 persons selected in real-time by the conference owner can be seen and heard by everyone. This type of conference is very useful for meetings and allows every participant to play an active role while maintaining low bandwidth and minimizing screen-estate usage.

  • Text messaging via instant messaging, or chat
  • File transfer enables sending different types of files directly to participants without third-party solutions or equipment
  • Slide show helps to easily broadcast images and PowerPoint presentations to every participant in your conference
  • Screen sharing enables a live video broadcast of your desktop screen to your participants
  • Video call recording option allows recording video and audio streams from all participants to a single file for future reference or editing
  • Whiteboard is a dedicated paint window in which you and your participants can simultaneously draw and manage basic shapes and objects, type and edit text, insert pictures and snapshots from your screen with the help of various graphic tools
