TrueConf has evaluated the changes in the Russian video conferencing market and summarized the results of 2014. Both Russian and global video conferencing markets show decline in volume for the third consecutive year. Sales in the Russian market fell by 7% in 2014, while the market volume is estimated at $80,000,000, matching the volume of 2011. Despite the generalized decline, TrueConf experts maintain that the year was highly successful for their company.

Russian Video Conferencing Market Decreases for the Third Consecutive Year 1

According to TrueConf, the volume of the Russian video conferencing market is estimated to be $80,000,000, which is 6.9% less than in 2013. Similarly, the IDC reports a 6.8% drop in global video conferencing revenues in 2014 compared to 2013.

Despite the difficult economic situation, the past year has been very successful for the TrueConf. Due to several completed major projects, the number of paid corporate subscribers connected to TrueConf video conferencing solutions in 2014 exceeded the number of subscribers in the past 7 years.

The number of TrueConf’s foreign partners has doubled, reaching 55 companies. License fees from selling software in the international markets will exceed the revenues from the Russian market this year. In addition, the experiment with offering a free corporate video conferencing server for six subscribers has tripled the number of TrueConf corporate customers globally over the past six months.

“It is no secret that videoconferencing hardware sales are declining as customers demand the flexibility and innovation of new software services. Yet many customers still want the security of an on-prem solution. TrueConf server software answers these mixed needs,” says David Maldow, Founder & CEO of ‘Let’s Do Video’. “The TrueConf server software is installed on your local hardware, while being supported by easily downloaded software, which is frequently updated with new and leading features. I believe this has been a big part of their success and growth.”
