Laos Heads to E-Government with TrueConf Video Conferencing 1

The National Assembly of Laos and TrueConf have jointly facilitated a successful digital consolidation of 16 government ministries and dozens of their remote departments by deploying an inter-governmental video conferencing network countrywide. This step has made an important contribution to overcoming the increase in incidence during the coronavirus pandemic. TrueConf video conferencing has been implemented by the E-Government Center of Lao PDR as a part of the national digitization program.

The E-Government Center, under the Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos, is responsible for the Smart Government project implementation and encourages adoption of advanced information and communication technologies for building unified software framework for all Laotian government institutions.

The National Assembly of Laos deployed a full-fledged inter-governmental collaborative network powered by TrueConf that has met their expectations on all counts. This software solution ensures high privacy of official-sensitive information, full compatibility with existing room endpoints and multiple video-enabled devices, as well as operates reliably in low bandwidth environments of remote sub-districts.

TrueConf implementation into the daily workflow of Laotian local authorities has turned their traditional communication into empowered digital collaboration among several thousands of desktop and mobile users. The E-Government Center is making plans to continue leveraging TrueConf video conferencing software after the transition to post-pandemic lifestyle.

“TrueConf allows us to hold secure meetings with officials in different ministries, being sure that our data resides within the government network. With TrueConf, we no longer require any other video conferencing system,” comments Dr. Vatthana Norlintha, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Permanent Secretary Office, Ministry of Investment and Planning of Lao PDR.

“We’re proud that TrueConf has streamlined the workflow of Laotian public sector bodies, giving officials the flexibility to tackle their daily workloads,” says Dmitry Odintsov, CEO at TrueConf. “TrueConf video conferencing has powered digital collaboration and ensured high levels of privacy of official-sensitive data in governmental institutions around the world, as well as contributed to minimizing morbidity among civil servants, which is very important in the context of overcoming the coronavirus pandemic.”
