Voice, much like a diamond is forever. The further innovation drives conferencing, the more prevalent video is becoming. Video conferencing is enabling your Tuesday afternoon meeting, Doctor’s visits with veterans, legal proceedings, and now a video conferencing vendor’s technology is being leveraged in the rental car business.
TrueConf recently unveiled an interesting video conferencing use case, announcing a TrueConf made self-service kiosk with a built-in custom application for car rental. Interested parties are easily connected with an operator, and within minutes be booking a rental car and ready for their next adventure.
“Video conferencing is not a stand-alone product anymore. Instead, we see video conferencing as a promising technology which makes third-party solutions more convenient and valuable for customers,” Dmitry Odintsov, TrueConf CBDO, says. “Using TrueConf SDK, developers can ensure a consistent user experience by embedding high-quality video into any application or device”.
As far as the backend, TrueConf is delivering intelligent queue management, which automatically transcodes video calls in SIP/H.323/WebRTC format. TrueConf also records every call or conference. At the core of the kiosk is the TrueConf customer SDK. It is the SDK that enables the ability to craft custom communications solutions.
“The market opportunity for embedded video communications is vast, with companies looking to video-enable both their intra-company and customer-facing applications,” Tim Gelardi, Senior Industry Analyst at MZA, comments. “The banking and healthcare verticals have been at the forefront of embedding video into their applications, but the wider B2C market is beginning to understand that adding real-time video capabilities drives customer engagement and that video isn’t just for enterprise boardrooms”.
The applications for video are still expanding, and as communications continue to evolve there will be more to come.
