As we mentioned earlier, TrueConf Server v. 4.3.9+ is compatible with Skype for Business 2015 Server or Lync 2013 Server. TrueConf and Skype for Business users can call each other and participate in joint video conferences. With TrueConf Server, Skype for Business users can also make calls to legacy video conferencing endpoints.
This integration is designed for dedicated Skype for Business 2015 or Lync 2013 servers and cannot be used for their cloud-based versions.

Step 1: Create TrueConf Server Account with Skype for Business
Create an account for TrueConf Server on Skype for Business Server.
Step 2: Set up TrueConf Server
- Go to TrueConf Server control panel.
- Go to Gateways → SIP.
- Click Add a configuration.
- Choose Skype for Business and click Create.
- Fill in the form to add the rule for Skype for Business server and be sure to indicate the following:

- IP address or domain name of Skype for Business server in the Host field
- TrueConf Server account (see Step 1) in the Login and Password fields.
If necessary, check the Default SIP trunk box. In this case, the abbreviated call string format is used to make calls to Skype for Business users. Learn more about this feature in our article on how to assign default destination servers.
Step 3: Call Skype for Business Users from TrueConf Application
- Enter
#sip:<user>@<server>in the search field, where<user>is the name of the user you call,<server>is the IP address or domain name of Skype for Business server. - Make a call by clicking on the entry that appears in the address book.
In their client application, Skype for Business user will receive a notification about user call. User’s credentials were entered when you added the rule in Step 2.
Skype for Business users can be added to conferences in a similar way.
How to Call TrueConf Users from Skype for Business Client Application
- In the address book, find a user created for TrueConf Server.
- In the user context menu, choose Call → Skype Call.
A chat window will open. Enter /call <TrueConf_ID>, where <TrueConf_ID> is an ID of a TrueConf user or SIP/H.323 device you want to call.
Once the message is sent, you will receive a notification about the incoming call. Click Accept Video Call for TrueConf Server to redirect the call to its user.
You can join a conference on TrueConf Server in a similar way by using /call \c\<CID> command, where <CID> is its ID.
