Leading Indian iron ore company builds private communications network with TrueConf 1

KIOCL, a leading iron ore company in India, provided their employees with secure tools for collaboration, video calls, and team messaging by implementing TrueConf Server, an on-premises 4K video conferencing platform. With an autonomous system, more than 1,000 employees conduct work meetings in hybrid and online modes from anywhere.

Kudremukh Iron Ore Limited (KIOCL) is a central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. It is a leading iron ore mining and pelletization company in the country that established itself as a pioneer in the iron ore industry, contributing significantly to India’s economic growth.

With its head office in Bengaluru, the company has a pelletisation plant in Mangaluru and an iron ore mine in Kudremukh. KIOCL lacked a single solution for building an effective workflow, solving economic, production, and logistical issues among its centers. Besides, unreliable internet connection complicated the process of organizing online communication among employees.

After extensive research, the enterprise management applied to Techser Power Solutions Pvt Ltd, a certified system integrator in India, who assisted KIOCL in implementing TrueConf Server, an on-premises 4K video collaboration platform, as a core of their communications network uniting 1,000 employees in numerous branches and departments.

TrueConf system meets the requirements of the public sector enterprise for communication security and data protection. TrueConf Server operates on the secure proprietary protocol, and is not at risk of blocking by foreign IT companies and providers. The platform allows KIOCL to transfer their data only in the local network with no third-party access and provides data encryption at all necessary levels.

The company’s employees engage in workshops, team meetings, and official events, share information, and coordinate projects with TrueConf self-hosted video collaboration system. Powerful client applications are installed on their PC and mobiles, giving the opportunity to contact colleagues at any time. A corporate messenger allows communicating asynchronously in personal and group chats that are synchronized on all users’ devices. During video meetings, participants use various collaboration tools that increase the efficiency of interaction — files, video, and audio sharing, slideshow, remote desktop control, video conferences recording, and much more.

Legacy video conferencing endpoints were connected to the deployed communications network based on TrueConf Server, which made it possible to save previously made investments in the enterprise’s video conferencing infrastructure.

“In today’s digital world, it is important for large companies to implement easily scalable and at the same time reliable IT systems, while we must take into account a number of features — integration with existing IT services and hardware, as well as providing communication security and privacy. For KIOCL, we’ve chosen TrueConf Server that addresses these needs, offering a comprehensive platform for high-quality video conferencing and instant messaging,” said KM Raghuraj, the representative of Techser Power Solutions Pvt Ltd. “The solution has become a reliable tool for conducting daily online meetings, and its functionality satisfies the needs of the enterprise.”
