Polymedia, a systems integrator and developer of software and hardware solutions, has teamed up with TrueConf, the leading developer of video conferencing systems in Eastern Europe, to collaborate on the Flipbox Software Suite.
Polymedia and TrueConf have joined forces to integrate their solutions into one convenient product. The new project is an updated version of Polymedia’s Flipbox software for interactive displays, which now features support for UHD TrueConf video conferencing.
The newly updated Flipbox Software Suite has integrated access to TrueConf Online cloud video services. Flipbox users can now access all modes of group video in resolutions up to 4K (UltraHD) on all popular operating systems (Windows, Linux, OS X, Android, and iOS). Just as importantly, they have access to TrueConf’s collaboration tools, including chat, whiteboard, session recording, slideshows, desktop sharing, file transfer, and status presence bar. The new solution ensures each participant gets the best possible sound and video quality thanks to scalable video coding (SVC) technology.
Polymedia’s development team says their shift to TrueConf’s video conferencing software complies with the needs of modern users:
“Our statistics shows that the number of companies that use SIP- and H.323-based endpoints as main mean of video communication is not that big among our clients, and [frequency of use] tends to decrease.” – says Ivan Vahmyanin, the Head of R&D Department at Polymedia.
“The majority of our customers require unified access to corporate communications on mobile devices (iOS, Android) and personal laptops, as well as the ability to conduct collaboration sessions to work on documents and applications, and organize multipoint video conferencing sessions. Based on this customers’ demand, we decided to integrate Flipbox Software Suite with the TrueConf system, which meets the requirements mentioned above.”
The new Flipbox 65UHD Display was also announced on June 27 2014. This high quality display unleashes the full potential of Flipbox Software Suite. The device has a screen with Ultra HD resolution (3840×2160), which greatly exceeds the image clarity of previous models. In cooperation with Corning Incorporated, Polymedia has also updated the display surface to the world famous heavy-duty, anti-reflective and scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass© AG. This allows Polymedia to reduce the distance between the stylus and the sensor, which, in turn, increases the response speed and significantly improves the ability to work in “Drawing” mode. The new Flipbox UHD has a new Surface Light Wave sensor able to detect six touches at once. The new model also has a computer installed in a special slot and is compliant with Intel OPS, which greatly simplifies the assembly and maintenance of the complex as a whole, while a large selection of inputs and outputs make it easy to use Flipbox with other integrated solutions.
Polymedia CEO Elena Novikova says: “Polymedia and TrueConf are longtime players in the IT and AV market, sharing a similar attitude and vision for the development of domestic technologies in Eastern Europe. Both companies are recognized not only in the CIS: our solutions are highly appreciated by experts in the world market. We’re glad we have found ways of long-term multi-media collaboration and are confident that it will be fruitful and efficient for our customers.”
TrueConf Business Development Director Dmitry Odintsov adds: “This collaboration will provide modern video communication to Polymedia’s Flipbox users, while Flipbox and TrueConf Online integration for education transforms any intelligent display into a powerful tool for distance education, which is becoming more popular every year.”
According to Polymedia, Flipbox Software Suite with integrated TrueConf Online cloud services and new Flipbox 65UHD Display is now available for pre-order and will be officially released on September 17 2014. The owners of previous models will receive their updates after the delivery of the new Flipbox.
