Getting Started

This section demonstrates how to perform the initial setup of the TrueConf Group terminal using the remote control. For easier administration with advanced features, we recommend using the control panel, which is accessible through the web interface.

By default, access to the control panel may not be available, and after connecting the terminal to the local network, you will need to configure it. After that, all settings can be managed through the browser.

You can also reset the terminal to factory settings.

Connecting equipment

Connecting equipment to TrueConf Group should only be done when it is turned off.

Connect the provided equipment, as well as the display and network interface, to the terminal's system unit. Then plug TrueConf Group into the power grid (110-240 V) using the included power adapter and start it using the power button.

After the terminal is powered on for the first time, you need to configure the network connection settings and access the control panel.

Access to the Control Panel

To manage conferences remotely (via the web interface), ensure that the Enable remote access parameter is activated in the Settings → Maintenance → Permissions → Web access section. Here, you can also upload the certificate and private key files for HTTPS.

After this, the control panel will be accessible at the address specified in the IP settings. This same address will be displayed in the lower-left corner of the main screen.

Setting the IP Address

To assign the TrueConf Group IP address, gateway, and subnet mask, go to the Settings → Network interfaces → master → TCP/IPv4 section.

If your network uses a DHCP service, select Assign IP address automatically for automatic connection configuration. Otherwise, manually configure the following settings:

  • IP address;
  • Subnet mask;
  • Gateway;
  • Primary DNS;
  • Secondary DNS.

If your network uses the IPv6 protocol, you can configure it in the same way in section Settings → Network interfaces → master → TCP/IPv6.

For more advanced network settings, go to the Settings → Network interfaces → master → Ethernet section:

  1. You can disable Autonegotioation and manually configure Interface speed (Mbps) and Duplex mode (Full-duplex or Half-duplex).

  2. Section IEEE 802.1X allows you to configure the connection using the IEEE 802.1X access control protocol by specifying a username, password, and authentication method EAP (MD5, PEAP, TTLS).

  3. When using VLAN in a corporate network, you can configure IEEE 802.1Q protocol connection in section IEEE 802.1Q by specifying VLAN ID.

If the network connection is successful, the terminal's IP address will be displayed in the lower-left corner of the main screen.

Reset settings

The reset settings feature is not available in all firmware versions. Contact your TrueConf company manager to check its availability on your device.

In certain cases, you may need to reset most of the TrueConf Group terminal's settings to their default values. This may be necessary, for example, if you can't access the settings due to a forgotten password or if you need to quickly restore factory settings after unsuccessful configuration changes. In this process, all settings will be reset except for those listed below:

  • address book;

  • call log;

  • recordings and traffic;

  • logs;

  • network settings;

  • time settings.

To reset the settings, you won't need a remote control or control panel, just access to the terminal itself:

  1. Press the power button on the terminal body five times in a row. A warning window about resetting to factory settings will appear.

  2. Press the power button again to confirm the reset.

Factory Reset

It is recommended to perform a factory reset only as a last resort if a standard settings reset does not achieve the desired effect.

A factory reset is available for terminal TrueConf Group. This will perform a complete firmware rewrite while retaining the license. To perform the reset, you will need a flash drive with a clean system image. To obtain it, please contact us through any convenient method.

Please note that a flash drive with a complete system image is required; you cannot attempt to restore the terminal using just a firmware file saved on an external drive.

To reset the firmware:

  1. Turn off the terminal, but do not disconnect it from the power source. Connecting to the local network is not required.

  2. (Optional) Connect a keyboard to the terminal. This will be useful if you don't have a remote control at hand.

  3. Connect the flash drive with the system image to any USB port (it's recommended to use a USB 3.1 port for maximum installation speed) of the terminal.

  4. Turn on the terminal using the remote control or the power button, and immediately afterwards, press the “erase” button on the remote or Backspace on the keyboard several times until the recovery menu appears.

  5. A recovery menu with the title TrueConf Group Installation Program will be displayed.

  6. Use the arrow buttons to select item Offline Installation and press the OK button on the remote or Enter on the keyboard to start the process.

If you encounter any issues during the process, please contact the technical support of TrueConf.
