# Before You Begin
This section shows how to configure initial settings for the TrueConf Group endpoint by using the remote control. For more convenient administration with extended features, we recommend using the control panel, accessible via the web interface.
By default, access to the control panel may not be available, and after connecting the terminal to the local network, you will need to configure it. After that, all settings can be made in the browser.
A factory reset of the terminal is also available.
# Hardware setup
Please note: turn off TrueConf Group before connecting any devices or equipment to it.
Connect the included equipment, as well as the monitor and network interface, to the system unit of the terminal. Then connect the TrueConf Group to a 110-240 V power outlet using the provided power supply, and start it using the power button.
Once you have turned on the endpoint for the first time, you need to configure your network connection parameters and control panel access.
# Control Panel Access
To enable remote management of conferences through the web interface, ensure that the Settings → Maintenance → Permissions → Web access option Enable remote access is activated. Here, you can also upload certificate and private key files for HTTPS.
After this, the control panel will be accessible at the address specified in the IP settings. This same address will be displayed in the lower left corner of the main screen.
# Setting the IP Address
To assign an IP address, gateway, and subnet mask to TrueConf Group, go to Settings → Network interfaces → master → TCP/IPv4.
If your network uses a DHCP service, select Assign IP address automatically for automatic connection configuration. Otherwise, manually configure the following settings:
IP address;
Subnet mask;
- Gateway
Primary DNS;
Secondary DNS.
If your network uses the IPv6 protocol, you can configure it in the same way in the Settings → Network interfaces → master → TCP/IPv6 section.
For more detailed network configuration, go to Settings → Network interfaces → master → Ethernet:
You can disable Autonegotiation and manually configure the Interface speed (Mbps) and Duplex mode (Full-duplex or Half-duplex).
The IEEE 802.1X section allows you to configure an IEEE 802.1X access control protocol connection by specifying the username, password, and EAP authentication method (MD5, PEAP, TTLS).
When using VLAN in a corporate network, you can configure the connection via the IEEE 802.1Q protocol in the IEEE 802.1Q section by specifying the VLAN ID.
If the network connection is successful, the terminal's IP address will be displayed in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
# Reset settings
The reset functionality is not available in all firmware versions. Please contact the manager at TrueConf to check its availability on your device.
In certain situations, you may need to reset most of the TrueConf Group terminal settings to their default values. This might be necessary if you can't access the settings due to a forgotten password or if you need to quickly restore factory settings after unsuccessful configuration changes. In this case, all settings will be reset except for those listed below:
address book;
call log;
conference recordings and traffic;
logs;
network settings;
time settings.
To reset the settings, you won't need a remote control or control panel, just access to the terminal itself:
Press the power button on the terminal case 5 times in a row. A window will appear with a warning about resetting to factory settings.
Press the power button again to confirm the reset.
# Factory reset
It is recommended to perform a factory reset only as a last resort if the standard reset does not achieve the desired effect.
The TrueConf Group terminal supports a factory reset. This process involves a complete firmware rewrite while preserving the license. To perform the reset, you'll need a flash drive with a clean system image. To obtain it, please contact us using any convenient method.
Please note that a flash drive with a complete system image is required. You cannot attempt to restore the terminal using just a firmware file recorded on an external drive.
To reset the firmware:
Turn off the terminal, but do not disconnect it from the power supply. Connection to the local network is not required.
(Optional) Connect a keyboard to the terminal. This can be useful if a remote control is not available.
Connect the flash drive with the system image to any USB port (it is recommended to use a USB 3.1 port for maximum installation speed) of the terminal.
Turn on the terminal using the remote control or the power button, and immediately after that, press the “erase” button on the remote control or Backspace on the keyboard several times until the recovery menu appears.
The recovery menu with the title TrueConf Group Installation Program will be displayed.
Use the arrow buttons to select Offline Installation and press the OK button on the remote or Enter on the keyboard to start the process.
If you encounter any issues during the procedure, please contact technical support at TrueConf.
