However, it is complex and inadvisable to implement for inexperienced users, as enabling a virtual machine to operate correctly can be quite difficult at times.<\/p>\n<p>This manual will teach you how to configure <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hyper-V\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyper-V<\/a> virtualizer on a Windows Server 2012 R2.<\/p>\n<div class=\"accent-note accent-note--line ui-mb-sm-1\">\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text\">This article is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee an indispensable and full operation of TrueConf Server after following this instruction. TrueConf Technical Support <b>does not advise<\/b> users on configuring virtual machines and running TrueConf Server on them. A virtual machine is an external system, which does not depend on TrueConf application. Its configuration and support are entirely user\u2019s responsibility.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"validate\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Step 1: Verify hardware virtualization support<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">Hyper-V virtualizer is <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/X86_virtualization\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a hardware virtualization<\/a> tool which uses a special processor-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.g2.com\/categories\/server-virtualization\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">architecture for virtualization<\/a> purposes. Therefore, it cannot be launched on those processors which are not based on this architecture. <\/p>\n<p>To check if your hardware supports hardware virtualization, open Windows PowerShell console, type <b>systeminfo.exe<\/b>, and press Enter.<\/p>\n<p>After entering this command, a long list of current system settings will be displayed on the console screen. Check if <strong>Virtualization Enabled In Firmware<\/strong>\u00a0is marked <b>\u201cYes\u201d<\/b> in the last paragraph.<\/p>\n<div class=\"accent-note accent-note--line accent-note--special ui-mb-sm-1 ui-mt-xs-3\">\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text\">If this item is not marked as <b>&#8220;Yes&#8221;<\/b>, Hyper-V cannot be installed on your system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"add_component\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Step 2: Add the server to the list of components<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">Open the Server Manager. In the opened window check <strong>Include management tools (if applicable)<\/strong>. Go to the\u00a0<strong>Virtual Switches<\/strong> menu and select the network adapter that you want to use.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"default_stores\" class=\"h5--main h5--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Default stores<\/h3>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">In the <strong>Default stores<\/strong> section, select the default folders for the virtual hard drive files and virtual machine configuration files. To do this, create two separate folders. It is recommended to first format the drive they are located on.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"confirmation\" class=\"h5--main h5--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Confirmation<\/h3>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">In the <strong>Confirmation<\/strong>\u00a0menu, select the\u00a0<strong>Restart the destination server automatically if required<\/strong>\u00a0checkbox.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads-com\/2018\/03\/finally.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-IGRuvmjB\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8225 aligncenter\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads-com\/2018\/03\/finally.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"776\" height=\"553\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/finally.png 776w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/finally-660x470.png 660w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/finally-768x547.png 768w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/finally-255x182.png 255w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 776px) 100vw, 776px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">After that, click <strong>Install<\/strong>\u00a0button below and wait until the installation is complete.<\/p>\n<p>Add Roles and Features Wizard will inform you when the installation is complete after several system reboots.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"create_machine\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Step 3: Create a virtual machine<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">Open Hyper-V Manager. On the right panel, click <strong>New &gt; Virtual machine<\/strong>\u00a0and fill in all the fields in the <strong>New Virtual Machine Wizard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Configure Networking<\/strong>\u00a0section, select the virtual switch we have chosen when adding a component to the\u00a0<strong>Virtual Switches<\/strong>\u00a0menu.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"enable_machine\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Step 4. Turn on the virtual machine<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">After finishing the configuration, return to the Hyper-V Manager. Click <strong>Connect<\/strong>\u00a0in the right menu in your virtual machine group of buttons (in our example it&#8217;s called vm1).<\/p>\n<p>In the opened window the message <b>\u00abVirtual Machine Disabled\u00bb<\/b>. will appear. To turn it on, click <strong>Action &gt; Start<\/strong>\u00a0in the window menu.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"install_TCS\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Step 5. Install TrueConf Server<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">After the successful configuration of the virtual machine, the last step is to install TrueConf Server it and start using it.
