TrueConf Server v.5.4.7.10034 with security updates for Q4 2025<\/summary>\r\n\r\n
If you have a version of TrueConf Server lower than 5.4.7 and for some reason it is not possible to install 5.5+, then we recommend updating the server to 5.4.7 because this version contains important security updates for 2025:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Hardware Setup<\/h2>\r\n\r\n
Before installing TrueConf Server, make sure that your hardware meets the system requirements<\/a>. While the system requirements are modest, supporting a large number of users for chat and video calls requires careful planning<\/a>. We recommend reviewing our deployment guides and consulting with our technical support team<\/a> for precise hardware sizing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nAttention!<\/b> For testing, you may install TrueConf Server on a personal Windows PC \u2014 but not the Home edition<\/b>. You must use Windows 10\/11 Pro or Enterprise, which include the user group management features required by the server.\r\n<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\n
Step 1: Download TrueConf Server Free and Get Your Registration Key<\/h2>\r\n
Carefully fill out all the fields in the form<\/a> and click on Submit & Download<\/strong> to download the distributive.<\/p>\r\n

<\/a>\r\n\r\nThe email containing your registration key will be sent within 15 minutes. If you cannot find the email containing your registration key in your inbox, please check the SPAM folder. You can also request the key via live chat<\/a> or contact us<\/a> in any other way convenient to you.<\/div>\r\n\r\nStep 2: Install TrueConf Server<\/h2>\r\n
After launching the installation package, install the server on your PC by following these instructions:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

<\/a><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\nDuring the server installation you need to choose Web TCP Port<\/strong> and Database TCP Port<\/strong>. By default, these ports are 80<\/b> (or 8888<\/b>) and 5444<\/b>, if these values are available. However, you can also choose any other ports.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Your browser will automatically open TrueConf Server Control Panel<\/a> (Web interface for configuring the server) after installation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Step 3: Sign in to the control panel<\/h2>\r\n
When installation is complete, you will see the browser window for signing in to the control panel (this window will be opened automatically). A person will be allowed to access the control panel, if his\/her OS account is added to the TrueConf Server Admin<\/b> group. The account you used to install TrueConf Server will be added to this group automatically. In other words, there is no default login: you need to know the login and password of the user whose account was added to the OS where the server is installed. So, to sign in to the control panel, just enter the system login and password of this user, and you will proceed to server registration (Step 4<\/a>):<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nLater to access the control panel, you will need to open the guest page, click Administrator login<\/strong>, and enter the login and password of the same OS user.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nStep 4: Register Your Server<\/h2>\r\n
To launch the video conferencing server in a local network, one should first register it. For this purpose, you will need the free registration key, received at step 1 after filling out the form. Enter the key in the corresponding field and click Registration<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

<\/a>\r\n\r\nStep 5: Start the Server<\/h2>\r\n
Once the server is successfully registered, a sign will appear at the top of TrueConf Server Control Panel’s window:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

<\/a>\r\n\r\nA static IP address is required for the server to work properly. Alternatively, it is possible to set the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) available to all users.<\/div>\r\n\r\nNow you need to add users on the server side and share with them the link to download client applications.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Step 6: Adding Users in TrueConf Server<\/h2>\r\n
Go to the User Accounts<\/strong> tab and click Add User<\/strong> button:<\/p>\r\n

<\/a>\r\n\r\nFill out required fields. The following fields have to be filled: TrueConf ID (login), password and its confirmation, email, display name (TrueConf ID is used as a default value for this field). Click Add<\/strong>:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

<\/a>\r\n\r\nAfter creating accounts on the server-side, please share TrueConf IDs<\/a> and passwords among users who will use video conferencing in LAN.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
In TrueConf Server Free, there are no restrictions on the number of created user accounts. In addition, the free version allows 1 SIP\/H.323\/RTSP connection and enables you to create a public conference with one guest participant. Restrictions are imposed on the number of online users (50) and PRO licenses (10) required for participation in conferences. For more details, check out the comparison of free and premium versions<\/a> and description of the licensing policy<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Please note that TrueConf Server Free also provides integration with LDAP (for example, Microsoft Active Directory, 389 Directory Server, FreeIPA, and so forth) which will enable you to import<\/a> existing user accounts of your company.<\/div>\r\n\r\nStep 7: Setting up the External and Internal IP Address<\/h2>\r\n
To enable users to connect to your TrueConf Server instance from outside your LAN, you must make the server externally visible. You must set up the external IP on your router. Read our tutorial about how to do this<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
Step 8: Client Applications<\/h2>\r\n
All users must install client applications to conduct video conferences. You just need to share among them a link to the guest page<\/a> where applications (for all supported operating systems) and brief connection guides are available.<\/p>\r\n

Step 9: Log in to the TrueConf Client Application<\/h2>\r\n
When launching the client application, please enter the TrueConf ID and the password you received from your server administrator.<\/p>\r\n

<\/a>\r\n\r\nIf you have configured integration with LDAP\/AD, you can also activate<\/a> SSO (Single sign-on) authentication via NTLM or Kerberos and two-factor authentication via Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) or Keycloak.<\/div>\r\n\r\nStep 10: Create a Video Conference<\/h2>\r\n
