For example: <code>https:\/\/video.company.com<\/code>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accent-note accent-note--line ui-mb-sm-1\">\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text\">You may experience issues while joining TrueConf web conferences hosted on TrueConf Server 4.7.0 or earlier using Chromium-based browsers (e.g. Google Chrome 89+). We recommend you update your TrueConf Server instance to v.4.7.1 to ensure compatibility with the latest browser versions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-set-up\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">How to set up HTTPS connection<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">You will need <em>SSL certificate<\/em> file in X.509 (<em><b>.\u0441rt<\/b><\/em>) format and a <em>corresponding private <\/em><em>key <\/em>(<em><b>.key<\/b><\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>There are two types of certificates: commercial and self-signed.<\/p>\n<p><b>Self-signed certificate<\/b> is free. You can generate this certificate for TrueConf Server by yourself from the control panel. The certificate is valid for 365 days (and prolonged further without limits). It can be used for WebRTC application testing. However, each conference participant should manually add it to the trust list in their browser.<\/p>\n<p><b>Trusted certificate<\/b> is fully functional and secured. However, this certificate is paid. Here\u2019s where you can get it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\"><a href=\"https:\/\/letsencrypt.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00abLet\u2019s encrypt\u00bb<\/a>\u00a0 (free of charge for 90 days);\u00a0<\/li>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\"><a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/ru-ru\/library\/dn781428.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Active Directory local certification center;<\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.websecurity.digicert.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DigiCert<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"how-to-use-trusted-certificate\" class=\"h5--main h5--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">How to use trusted certificate in TrueConf Server<\/h3>\n<div class=\"accent-note accent-note--line ui-mb-sm-1\">\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text\">Before you buy SSL certificate make sure your TrueConf Server is accessible by its domain name (e.g. <em>server.mycompany.com<\/em>) from the internet. If the file extension is not <b><i>.crt<\/i><\/b>, you need to convert the certificate to this format. For this purpose, you can use open-source OpenSSL libraries pre-installed on Linux-based platforms. However, if you want to use the libraries on Windows, you can download them by <a href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/openssl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">following the link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the certificate file extension, you may convert it in two steps:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ui-list ui-list--medium\" style=\"margin-bottom: 18px;\">\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\">conversion into the <em><b>.pem<\/b><\/em><b><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b>format<\/li>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\">change the file extension to <b><i>.crt<\/i><\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"converting_into_pem_file\" class=\"h5--main h5--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Converting the certificate file into a PEM\u00a0file<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ui-list ui-list--medium\" style=\"margin-bottom: 18px;\">\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\">from <b><i>.der <\/i><\/b>extension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><code>openssl x509 -inform der -in certificate.cer -out certificate.pem<\/code><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ui-list ui-list--medium\" style=\"margin-bottom: 18px;\">\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\">from <b><i>.p7b <\/i><\/b>extension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><code>openssl pkcs7 -print_certs -in certificate.p7b -out certificate.cer<\/code><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ui-list ui-list--medium\" style=\"margin-bottom: 18px;\">\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--disc\">from <b><i>.pfx <\/i><\/b>extension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><code>openssl pkcs12 -in certificate.pfx -out certificate.cer -nodes<\/code><\/p>\n<div class=\"accent-note accent-note--line ui-mb-sm-1\">\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text\">To convert a <em><b>.pfx<\/b><\/em> file, you need to enter the password you have specified when exporting a <em><b>.pfx<\/b><\/em> certificate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"change_file_extension_to_crt\" class=\"h5--main h5--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Change the file extension to .crt and add an intermediate certificate<\/h3>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">Change the extension of the resulting <b><i>.pem<\/i><\/b> file to <b><i>.crt<\/i><\/b>. You should have a <code>certificate.crt<\/code> file.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, browsers may show a warning that your HTTPS certificate is untrusted. To remove the warning, you need to add an intermediate<i> certificate <\/i>when configuring an HTTP server.\u00a0It is needed for testing HTTPS connection established with the help of an SSL certificate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">Complete the following actions to add an intermediate certificate:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ui-list ui-list--medium\" style=\"margin-bottom: 18px;\">\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--num\">Open root, intermediate and end-entity server certificates in Notepad.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--num\">Copy the content of the intermediate certificate and paste it at the end of the end-entity server certificate.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--num\">Repeat step 2 for the root certificate.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ui-list__item ui-list__item--num\">Save changes in the root certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"accent-note accent-note--line ui-mb-sm-1\">\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text\">If root and intermediate certificates were not in the package, you can download them from the official website of a certification authority.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 id=\"check-tcs-configuration\" class=\"h4--main h4--thick black-text ui-mb-xs-3 ui-mt-md-1\">Check TrueConf Server configuration once the certificate has been installed<\/h2>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">Incorrect port data or certificate parameters may result in TrueConf Server launch issues next time, and your administrator might lose access to the server control panel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You can initiate HTTPS server configuration without restarting it by pressing <strong>Test<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Configuration<\/strong> button (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.trueconf.com\/server\/en\/admin\/web-config\/#https-configuration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Web\u2192 HTTPS\u2192HTTPS Configuration<\/strong><\/a> in TrueConf Server control panel).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/trueconf.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-7dg7aHCw\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15531 size-medium\" style=\"border: 1px solid #D1CCCC;\" src=\"https:\/\/trueconf.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest-690x145.png\" alt=\"httptest\" width=\"690\" height=\"145\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest-690x145.png 690w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest-768x161.png 768w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest-1024x215.png 1024w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest-290x61.png 290w, https:\/\/trueconf.com/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/httptest.png 1271w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"primary-medium-text ui-mb-sm-1\">If your certificate is installed correctly (HTTPS port must also be accessible) you will see <b>The configuration has been successfully tested<\/b> string.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Press <strong>Apply<\/strong> after you\u2019ve tested the configuration.
