Kazakhstan Video Conferencing Market Is Ready for Innovation

In May 2015 Kazakhstan hosted the first event of Video+Conference 2015 series. Our company surveyed its participants and identified the recent trends in the local video conferencing market.

According to our data, Kazakhstani clients equally use hardware and cloud video conferencing systems (28% per each category) while Russian clients prefer hardware mixing MCU (41%) as well as less popular cloud services (20%). It should be noted that SVC-based solutions are gaining popularity across the CIS, with 12% of Russian companies and 10% of Kazakhstani companies using such systems.

Both Kazakhstani and Russian users prefer to use video conferencing from their workstations (51% and 62% respectively). Only 35% of Kazakhstani and 51% of Russian respondents are willing to hold conferences in meeting rooms, while the share of users who hold video conferences on their mobile device is growing steadily, with 15 % and 11% respectively.


According to the survey, only 36% of Kazakhstani companies own an on-premises video conferencing system while in Russia this share equals 45%. 19% of Kazakhstani respondents are willing to use cloud video conferencing systems, which is double the Russian rate (10%).

The survey involved 56 professionals from 12 sectors, including clients (62%), system integrators (31%) and Kazakhstani video conferencing service providers (7%).
