Virtual Meeting

Virtual Meeting (or role-based video conference) allows to connect up to 120 users (TrueConf Online) or up to 250 (TrueConf Server) in one meeting room.

During a Virtual Meeting up to 4 participants can become Speakers, and the rest 116 users are Listeners (246 listeners if the UDP Multicast protocol is used).

Who May Need Virtual Meeting?

Virtual Meetings can be used by all kinds of businesses in order to create a unified communication network and raise interaction efficiency within a company. For example, you can conduct daily staff meetings or organize video meetings for department heads of a big enterprise with the staff members of remote departments. In short, Virtual Meetings can be beneficial for people who respect and value their colleagues' time, calculate expenses on communications, and at the same understand the importance of personal contact for success.

Participants' Roles

The Host is appointed by the technical administrator of the connection and manages roles during a video conference. This role cannot be handed over to other Virtual Meeting participants. A Host can stop broadcasting or quit the conference and he/she can reenter the conference with the same rights and privileges.

Basic Functions of the Host:

• Invite user to the video conference
• Transfer the Speaker role to any participant by request

The Speaker. Up to 4 participants can become simultaneous Speakers during a Virtual meeting. All Speakers are heard and seen by the rest conference participants. Listeners can also take a role of a Speaker by sending to the Host a request to Take Podium.

If you quit Virtual Meeting or stop broadcasting, you can reenter the conference only as a Listener. To stop broadcasting choose Leave Podium.

The Listener. Virtual Meeting participants can express their opinion by clicking the Push to Talk button. This feature allows Listeners interact with Speakers.

How Listeners can interact with the rest conference participants?

It's very easy. Conference participants can use Instant Messaging to exchange text messages. User can express their opinion and ask questions in common chat (messaging is seen for all conference participants) and in private chat (it is used if you want to communicate with a definite person).

You can enlarge video layout mode by double clicking the video image of a conference participant. To reduce the same size, do the same actions.

How to Start the Virtual Meeting

In order to start the virtual meeting you need to press on button and choose a role-based conference type.

Choose needed users from the Contact list and move them to the right window Selected participants. After all necessary user are chosen click the Start button.
