New release of 4.0 features management in a web browser

05 July 2013

TrueConf introduced a new version of its video conferencing server TrueConf Server 4.0 that now has the ability to administer the video conferencing server by simply using any web browser. This enables you to manage the VCS from any device or operating system.

TrueConf reports that the software solution for the video conferencing TrueConf Server is now updated to version 4.0. In responding to the latest trends of server manufacturers, TrueConf Server 4.0 has a new web configuration tool that was developed in the form of a web-based application. TrueConf's videoconferencing system management tools were previously limited by the Windows OS and remote administration tools. The new web configurator allows IT professionals to add users to a corporate videoconferencing system or to plan video conferencing sessions from any device or platform anywhere in the world. It increases the overall flexibility of the entire videoconferencing system. The web configurator works in a network through a web browser and does not require any software to be installed on the administrator's computer.

TrueConf follows the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) principle in developing their solutions. BYOD means users can use any available device to connect to the corporate videoconferencing system from a desktop computer or a third-party video conferencing endpoint to an iPhone. Guided by this principle, TrueConf added a special guest page in their web configurator for employees who use the video conferencing server. The guest page lists all of the available applications that are configured to work with the local video conferencing server.

"The new release of TrueConf Server 4.0 is user-friendly and combines high quality communication and cross-platform flexibility. In other words, we satisfy the latest demands of users of video conferencing systems", says Michael Gotalsky, TrueConf CEO. "In addition, the new web interface simplifies scalability and integration with other enterprise IT systems. This winning combination, together with the new administration tools, will be in demand among those IT professionals who are involved in video conferencing deployment, both in Russia and worldwide."

The improvements also include an enhanced quality of the transmitted video between TrueConf client applications and SIP devices at high data rates. Now, the video that is received from SIP devices during a multipoint video conference is not trimmed when scaled. The web configurator also features an online support chat widget that is available when connected to the Internet. The user is just a click away from highly skilled technical support. TrueConf Server 4.0 is available for download on the company's website.
